Dirt Worker - FAQs

Can I plug a Dirtworker into the mains?

No. You must never plug Dirtworker into the mains for any reason. It works only from a 12v car battery or leisure battery.

How big is it?

Think of a laptop, but wider.

How does it work?

It consists of a water tank with an integrated pump. The only other components are the power cable that plugs into your cigarette lighter, the hose and the spray gun. These are all neatly contained in the utility pack attached to the unit.

What's the difference between Dirtworker and other jet washers?

  • You take the water with you
  • Because it's so compact you can take it pretty much anywhere with you in your car
  • The water pressure is lower than other machines on the market - 90psi as opposed to 1200-1400. Perfect for leisure use where you don't need to use so much water or pressure.

What can I clean with it?

Dirtworker is designed for light use eg cleaning mountain bikes, surfboards, wet suits, and boots.

How many bikes can I clean with it?

It depends on how dirty your bikes are and how you use it. You can normally clean a couple of bikes under normal conditions. If you've hit serious mud then a bike may take a tankful.

Can I clean my car with it?

Use it to rinse down after hand-washing or to clean fresh mud off number plates or headlamps.

What about motocross bikes?

Yes, you can use Dirtworker, but it'll take more than one tank load of water and longer than standard jet washers.

Can I use detergents with it?

We don't recommend that you put detergents in the tank. Only because the pumping action could turn the water into foam and slow it down.

What's the drain on the battery?

The Dirtworker runs at between 4 and 5 amps. Typical car batteries are 30 or 40 amp hours. This means you could run a Dirtworker for between 7 and 8 hours on a fully charged battery without having to switch on your engine. However, as it takes just 7 minutes to empty a tank, you would need to refill it 60 times to run it for so long.
